Description: Info from Event on Facebook:
Always wanted to discover what lies beneath the waters along the coral coast?
Perhaps you’re a regular avid snorkeler or diver?
Come along to help build a local community of citizen scientists! Learn about and protect our local reefs, make new friends and have some fun.
You’ll be briefed and guided by a CoralWatch Ambassador who’ll help you learn how it all works. It’s really easy, no experience is necessary and there’s no age limit.
You don’t have to be a strong swimmer or experienced snorkeller as rockpooling is also an option. This is a great fun and educational activity for the kids – they’ll be learning without even knowing it!
Please bring all your own gear. If you need to borrow anything, we have a few spares but please let us know what you need well before the event. Bundaberg Aqua Scuba has also offered us a special deal: $20 for full gear hire including wetsuit, booties, fins, mask and snorkel.
Contact Dive for Change to learn more and get involved. You can also visit the CoralWatch Facebook page to see more about what we do!
Briefing will begin at 7am so please arrive 15 minutes before.
PLEASE NOTE THIS EVENT IS WEATHER DEPENDANT! Keep an eye on the Dive for Change Facebook Page for updates. If the weather renders the activities unsafe, the event will be postponed to a later date.
