Corals at Your Doorstep

Moreton Bay

CoralWatch is based in Brisbane, only 40km away from the Moreton Bay and about 450 KM away for the most southern reef of the Great Barrier Reef. Moreton Bay is an amazing place, a marine environment of stunning beauty very close to the big city of Brisbane. The Bay is home to coral, seagrass and mangrove habitats which support diverse marine species and ecosystem services such as tourism, commercial and recreational fishing. To raise more awareness about our local environment, CoralWatch produced The Moreton Bay education package, with printing support of Port of Brisbane.

The aim of this education package is to showcase the Moreton Bay marine environment and its importance, promote everyday ‘do-able’ activities that improve the coastal & marine environment, and provide opportunities for people to participate in local environmental monitoring activities.
